A probable situation in manufacturing is using more than one unit of measure for a specific product. For example, a company may purchase fabric by the roll, but then only consume it by the yard. In ERPlite Pro, this is possible with a new Units Of Measure form, which allows users to set up different units of measure then apply conversion rates between related units of measure. The following tutorial will explain how to use this functionality.
1. Open the Units of Measure and Conversion form from the Administration menu on the Switchboard. It will look like the following screenshot.

2. Enter all the units of measure that your company will use. Do not worry about conversion rates yet, let ERPlite Pro fill in default values. We will enter the conversions in the following steps.
3. Once all units of measure have been entered, navigate back through the records and enter the necessary conversions. You only need to enter conversions for units of measure when purchasing an item in a unit of measure that is different from the unit of measure used in inventory. As in the example given previously, if fabric is purchased by the roll but then consumed from inventory by the yard, then the following conversion must be entered for the yard unit of measure (assuming 60 yards/roll ).

4. Once all necessary conversions have been entered, these units of measure are ready to be used in the ItemMaster. Open the ItemMaster from the Switchboard and apply the units of measure to products where applicable, as shown below. In the ItemMaster, the default unit of measure is "each" for inventory and purchase orders.

5. Now we create 2 new Items in the ItemMaster:
A) ItemNumber: MAT0001
Name: white linen fabric
Standard Cost: $20
Inventory UofM: Yard
PO UofM: Roll
A) ItemNumber: DRAPES
Name: Drapes
Standard Cost: $100
Inventory UofM: each
PO UofM: each
ItemType: Manufactured
6. Now, we can create a BOM from these two parts:

7. We receive a PO from a customer, so we enter it as a Sales Order:

8. Click on Generate Work Orders to generate a WO for this Sale.

12. Now you’re ready to Ship the Sales Order.
