Open the Sales Order form and go to a new Sales Order. Yellow fields are ones that must be filled in with appropriate data. Thus, a name must be chosen from the Ship To drop-down list and the employee doing the order must be chosen from the Employee drop-down list. The Status field will be changed as necessary, but for now, leave it as Planned. Select Sales Order (with custom WO) under Sales Order Type. Fill in the rest of the fields on the Data Input tab as desired.
Example: Choose The Cowardly Lion from Ship To, and Augustus, John from Employee, and click Sales Order (with custom WO) under Sales Order Type.
Enter the items to be manufactured in the table using the ItemNumber pull-down menu and the required quantity in the QtyReq field. Do NOT edit the Control field (column). Once all items have been listed on the table, then close the Sales Orders form and open the Work Orders form. Below is a completed Sales Order just before going to the Work Orders form.
