Appendix A Partial Work Orders

There are some situations in ERPlite that require a partial receipt of a sales order (with a custom work order) / work order that has been issued to the shop floor. The following tutorial will give a step-by-step process to receive the partial amount of finished goods into stores while leaving the remaining component parts on the shop floor to complete the order.

1. Open the Work Orders form from the switchboard and locate the work order that you wish to partially receive. What needs to be done is a deletion of the original picklist, that way clones of the original order can be created to consume the partial amount of component parts now to create the partial amount of finished goods to be received. Thus, click on the DELETE Picklist button once the desired sales / work order has been found.

Leave the order as is for it will not be picked; but instead, will be left for future reference. In the example below we have an original order for 10 PRD1000's that will be broken down into two orders: the first clone order will be placed for 6 PRD1000's to be received immediately, while the second order will be placed for the remaining 4 PRD1000's to be completed as soon as possible.

2. The next step is to create the first clone of the original order that contains the partial amount to be received. Thus create the new order, and enter the tracking number (SOxxxx / WOxxxx) in the PP field for the parent item to track the clone orders. The Notes field can also be used to reference the original order that was created.

3. Explode the clone order in the Work Orders form, making the necessary changes to the picklist. Pick when ready.

Note: You can add additional parts if needed say because of defective parts on the shop floor.

4. Close the Work Orders form and open the WO Receive form to receive the order that was just picked in the previous step. Receive the full amount for the first clone order, as shown below.

5. Now create the second clone order for the remaining parent items to be manufactured. Following the example, this clone order will be for the 4 remaining PRD1000's, as shown below. Remember to reference the original tracking number in the PP field.

6. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for the second clone; however, the second clone is not  received right away since these items have yet to be manufactured, and can be received when completed. ***Partial receipts for Work Orders can be done any number of times.

NOTE:  Do not receive the original WO(SO1189) or you will double downcount the parts in WIP and the finished goods.
