Eliminating the need for Microsoft Access on the Server

Case B: Eliminating the need for Microsoft Access on the Server.

If the Server PC will not be used for ERPlite   editing & viewing, then there is no need to have a copy of Microsoft Access on the server.  This situation is usually encountered when the Server PC is locked up in another room where most employees are disallowed access.  ERPlite must first be properly installed on one of the PC’s that is connected over the intranet to the Server.  This  Administrative PC can be used for all ERPlite data entering and viewing functions.

  1. Install ERPlite v4xxx on the Administrative PC.  After getting a valid sitekey , update the backend to the latest release via Switchboard > Admin > Verify Version Control..

  2. Then copy the backend (DbM_be.mdb) to the Server PC.  It can be installed in any directory on any Drive.

  3. Finally, use the Linked Table Manager (Switchboard > admin > link to database backend), to link the frontend (DbM_fe.mdb) to the backend(DbM_be.mdb):

 4. Repeat steps  1 and 3 to install ERPlite on all the other Client PC's.
