Using ShipRush FedEx With ERPlite

What you need to get started:

·         A demo copy of ShipRush FedEx.

·         A temporary sitekey from erplite.com that allows you to use the ShipRush FedEx demo copy.

·         A computer that has an Internet connection.

Step 1: Download the ERPlite setup file from the website

The ERPlite install files have been updated to install a demo version of ShipRush FedEx on your computer, if so selected.

If you selected not to install ShipRush FedEx when you installed ERPlite on your computer, look for the ShipRushv2.exe file in the C:\DbM folder on your computer. Running this setup file will install ShipRush FedEx on your computer.

Otherwise, download the latest release of ERPlite from www.erplite.com, which can automatically install ShipRush on the computer. Open the install file after the necessary backup files have been created (your backend and, if applicable, your custom frontend). When prompted during the install, choose “Yes” to install ShipRush FedEx.

Step 2: Installation of ShipRush FedEx

The installation opens with a Yes or No prompt about Confidential Z-Firm software. Click on Yes to continue and follow the onscreen instructions to install ShipRush FedEx on the computer. The installation is straightforward, and will install the following items:

·         ShipRush FedEx

·         FedEx Communication Module (necessary to create valid FedEx documents)

·         Java runtime software (only if not already installed on your computer)

There are two important items to be aware of is that during installation

·         Even though you have the option to install ShipRush in a directory of your choosing, you must select the default directory in order for ERPlite to work with ShipRush correctly. If you do not install in the default directory, you will get an error message when you attempt to run ShipRush with ERPlite.

·         You will be required to enter any proxy server information necessary for your internet connection. If you do not use a proxy server, or if you are not sure, simply click on “Next” to skip this step.

Step 3: Configuring ShipRush FedEx

After the installation of ShipRush FedEx is complete, ShipRush is available to use in demo mode for a period of two weeks. A wizard will automatically launch that will allow you to configure ShipRush FedEx for use with ERPlite. You can either go through the wizard now, or exit the wizard and configure ShipRush FedEx later. Note: To reopen the configuration wizard, open ShipRush Fedex from the Programs list in the Start Menu, and the wizard will pick up where you left off. Here is a summary of the information needed for configuration:

·         Your company address

·         FedEx account information (account number, etc.)

·         Contact Manager (IMPORTANT: regardless of what contact manager you are using, you must select AvtiveX V2 as the contact manager)

·         Printer information

Step 4: Obtaining a sitekey from erplite.com to use ShipRush

If you have just installed a free trial version of ERPlite, open ERPlite and follow the instructions on registering the free trial for activation. Send the sitecode to support@erplite.com and the accompanying sitekey sent back will unlock the software, including the connection to ShipRush.

Step 5: How ShipRush works in ERPlite

Once you are ready to ship in ERPlite, that is, you have created a sales order and completed the necessary preparation for shipping, this is when the FedEx documents can be printed with the ShipRush software. In the Ship Order form, under the Ship tab, there is a button that opens ShipRush when clicked. When ShipRush is opened, ERPlite feeds the customer information as specified by the sales order. The ShipRush software allows you to enter the necessary shipping information (weight, dimensions, etc.) and choose then create FedEx documents for the shipment. Once you have finished completed entering the shipping information, click on the Ship link to process the shipment. Otherwise, click on cancel to return to ERPlite without shipping.

Step 6: The basics of ShipRush

When ShipRush is opened from either ERPlite or from the Start Menu, you will notice an icon in the system tray appears. Right-clicking on that icon will present you a menu from which you can select different shipping options, as well as the configuration settings of ShipRush in case you need to make any changes. There are four different types of shipments to choose from, and you can print a history of older shipments as well.

Step 7: Purchasing ShipRush to work with ERPlite

Once payment is received for ShipRush, you will be given a serial number that you must enter into both ERPlite and ShipRush for the software to work completely.

To enter the serial number in ERPlite, open the ShipRush FedEx / UPS Registration form from the FedEx / UPS section of the switchboard. Type or copy in the serial number and click on the save button. ERPlite will advise on whether or not the serial number was saved.

To enter the serial number in ShipRush, open ShipRush from the Start Menu, and when the sytem tray icon appears, right-click on the icon and select the Registration option. ShipRush will then allow you to copy or type that serial number into ShipRush and will enable the software accordingly.
