Import/Export Peachtree Data Tutorial
Overview
An advantage to using ERPlite is the ability to link to accounting software such as Peachtree. This allows the customer to continue using their existing accounting software. The following tutorial will demonstrate how easy it is to export form ERPlite to Peachtree and then import data from Peachtree to ERPlite.
1) Export the data from ERPlite into a .CSV file
Step 1: Open ERPlite and click on the Batch Links item in the main menu. The screen should look like the below shown screen:
Step 2: Now click on the Peachtree Export tab in the ERPlite submenu. You will see the following screen.
Select the location where you want to store the exported data. If you do not wish to keep the default locations, then click on the browse button and select a new location.
Step 3: Press the Start Export button to export the files from ERPlite to .CSV files.
2) Import the data from a .CSV file into Peachtree
Peachtree Accounting has a number of standard import and export templates that look for data in a predefined order. Each .CSV file you import must have the fields in the same order as the template so that Peachtree will know where to put the data.
Step 1: Create a backup of your Peachtree data. Use the backup function in Peachtree (File > Back Up …)
Step 2: Open Peachtree and click on File > Select Import/Export. To import the "Customer List", select Accounts Receivable > Customer List, and click on the Import icon. Your screen should look like the following:
Step 3: The Customer List window will open. This window has three tabs.
Options Tab:
Import/Export File: The default import filename appears in this field. If you have saved the file to a different location, click the arrow button to the left of the filename to display a standard file selection box and the file you are going to import.
Import Options: Do not check the First Row Contains Headings box.
Fields Tab:
First, clear all the settings by clicking Deselect All. Make sure to check the fields in the given order. If the fields are not in the given order, then use the Move button to arrange them. Check the boxes under the show column to only show the fields that are being import. Refer to the lists below for which fields to include in the different lists you will be importing.

Example: Customer List
When you are finished, click the Save button, and save the current template as something like "ERP_Import Customer List".
Step 4: Click OK to import the data. Peachtree will warn you that you should make a backup before attempting to import information, and asks if you want to continue. Since you already created a backup in step 1, click yes to start the import.
To view the imported data, go to the Maintain menu and find the appropriate list.
Step 5: Repeat steps 1 through 4 for each of the other lists (vendor and item).
Accounts Payable >Vendor List
Inventory >Inventory Item List
Some common problems to look out for when importing data are:
1. Account ID, Customer ID, Item ID, Vendor ID, Employee ID, Inventory ID and Job ID must conform to Peachtree Accounting standards and contain no embedded spaces. This is taken care in ERPlite code.
2. Avoid quotation marks in description fields. The .CSV files that are exported from ERPlite have double quotes around each field with a comma separating each field. Have quotes inside a field will cause problems to occur when importing the .CSV file into Peachtree.

Import Peachtree data to ERPlite Tutorial
Overview
The following tutorial will demonstrate how easy it is to import data into ERPlite from Peachtree.
NOTES:
1. Double Quotes ( " ) and commas ( , ) cannot be used in any data (ie. ItemID, Item Description, Customer Name).
2. Peachtree Components cannot currently be imported to ERPlite.
1) Export the data from Peachtree into a .CSV file
Step 1: Open Peachtree with your company data. Click on File> Select Import/Export
To export "Customer List", select Accounts Receivable > Customer List > Click on the Export icon
Step 2: Then a window called Customer list will open
Filter tab:
- Used to filter the data that will be exported
Options tab:
- Check the Include Heading box
- Select the desired output file pathname
Fields tab:
- You need to have the fields selected in a specific order. See the lists below for the correct order. For the customer list, you may want to click the button to select all, and then uncheck the fields that are not being imported. For the employee list, you want to do the opposite. Click the button to select none, and then select the fields required.

Step 3: Once you are done with the settings on the three tabs, click the Save button and give the template a name. We suggest putting ERPlite at the beginning of the name (ie. ERPlite Customer List, ERPLite Vendor List, etc)
Since all the settings are saved, in all subsequent exports you only need to open this template and click OK.
Step 4: Click OK to export the data.
The export is complete. Repeat these steps for the Vendor, Employee, and Inventory Item lists.
Accounts Payable > Vendor List
Inventory > Inventory Item List
Payroll > Employee List
2) Import the data from a .CSV file into ERPlite
Step 1: Open ERPlite and go to Batch Links > Peachtree Import from the switchboard.
You will see the following screen:
Step 2: Press the Browse button to select the .CSV files to import. After you select the files, your screen will look like this.
Step 3: Press the Start Import button to import the data into ERPlite. You have just imported your company data to ERPlite. Now if you check in the ERPlite database you will find your company data there.
For example, below is the Customer table screen before you import.
Now after you import, your customer table looks like this:
Notice that before the customer table had 11 records, and after import it has 78 records.
