The itemmaster has status choices: not released, released, obsolete and OnHold
Not-Releaseed = draft. Use this status to edit any item properties and data.
Released = Released parts can be used in Purchase Orders, Work Order , Sales Orders, Inventory Transfer without restriction.
Obsolete = Obsolete parts are avaialble in Purchase Orders.
OnHold = Parts with OnHold status trigger a message anytime they are selected. Use this flag to warn users that there may be a problem with using part, and that they should ask permission to use it.
